Housing Information:
Housing is provided by the employer! Each structure holds two to three people. The housing is wood framed canvas tent cabins, wood sided cabins, or dormitory rooms. The majority of new associates will be living in the canvas tent camps.  All of the housing has electricity, lights, and heat. Students are responsible for providing their own bedding, and it is recommended to bring a warm sleeping bag. Transportation in Yosemite National Park: There is a free shuttle that will bring you around the different parts of the park. Some employees enjoy bringing a bike to ride around the park as well.


Weather in Yosemite:
The summer months from June to September are the warmest months in Yosemite.  The temperature can range from Warm to hot, with occasional rain (usually as afternoon thundershowers, especially at the higher elevations). How to Get There
The largest airports to fly into are San Francisco International airport (KSFO), or Sacramento, or Oakland airport. From there, there are bus and train options to get you into Yosemite National Park. Please see the following links about transportation from the airport to the park.
Amtrak provides a combination of train and bus service to Yosemite Valley. Amtrak also provides limited service to White Wolf and Tuolumne Meadows daily during July and August (weekends only during June and September). Amtrak service beyond Merced (including Yosemite) is provided by YARTS.
Greyhound provides bus service to Merced, where you can transfer to YARTS to continue to Yosemite Valley. YARTS also provides limited service to Crane Flat, White Wolf, and Tuolumne Meadows daily during July and August (weekends only during June and September).

Resort Worker - Front of the House

Minimum Work Period : 12 weeks

English Language Level : (6) Advanced

 

Qualification 

Students must be able to work independently. Excellent English and customer service skills are a must. All positions will require ability to stand on feet for a long period of time. Students must be prepared to do some lifting up to 35lbs.

 

Position Description

Front of House workers will be assigned to one of the following positions. Please know that you MUST be willing to work ANY of these positions listed. Transfers to other departments are only approved if there is a business need. Front Desk/Reservations: Check guests in, answer guest questions, input reservations into system, calculate deposits, communicate guest requests with other departments. Other duties as assigned. Servers: Take food and beverage orders, deliver food. Servers must have at least one job with previous experience and advanced level of English. Typically students will start as a Dining Room Attendants and be promoted to Server after a language assessment and menu test is conducted. This is a tipped position.
