How to Get There

Students must communicate their travel plans with their employer at least 2 weeks prior to arrival. It is recommended that students fly into O’Hare International Airport (ORD) in Chicago, IL. Once in Chicago, students can choose to ride the Greyhound Bus or take an Amtrak train to Wisconsin Dells, WI. Students may also choose to fly into Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) in Madison, WI. Please make sure that you arrive in the Wisconsin Dells before 4pm. Should you arrive after 4pm, go to the Flamingo hotel for the night.

The largest International airport in the region is O’Hare International Airport (ORD) in Chicago, IL and there are many ways to get from there to the Wisconsin Dells.

1.     From Chicago, students can also contact US Work and Travel Shuttles. Students should email for rates and pick up times.

2.     Greyhound bus to the Wisconsin Dells. Take a bus (a few dollars), Taxi ($55), or Airport Shuttle ($35) to the Downtown Chicago Greyhound Bus Station located at 630 West Harrison Street, Chicago, IL 60607. Book a trip from Chicago to Wisconsin Dells. **Please Note that the bus from Chicago to Wisconsin Dells departs ONLY two times per day and the trip is about 5 hours long. Check the schedule here to make sure that you will be able to make the connection.

3.     If students arrive early enough you can also catch the Amtrak train from Chicago to the Wisconsin Dells. Please check the Amtrak schedule to see what will work best for you.

Students who fly into the General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) in Milwaukee, WI or the Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) in Madison, WI can contact Wisconsin Dells Kangaroo Taxi and Shuttle for more information about shuttle times and prices.

Food Service worker

Qualification : Must have experience working in restaurant service . Ability to communicate with guests Understanding of US currency and ability to do money transactions on a register Ability to work at a high pace work environment

Position Description: Food service staff will be working in different kitchens and carts through out the park serving guests. During training staff will be responsible for learning and applying basic food service techniques to food service dept. Greeting of guests when entering food service areas. Working on registers and taking orders with money transactions. Understanding correct methods of serving and perparing of food items off menu. Assist in cleaning and stocking of kitchens during morning and night shifts.

 

Lifeguard

Job Start Dates : 6/1/2017 - 6/15/2017

Job End Dates : 9/6/2017 - 9/6/2017

Minimum Work Period : See work dates

English Language Level : (6) Advanced

Qualification : A good swimmer, being able to swim with your head under water, not afraid of heights. Ability to pass written and oral test in English. Depending on location within the park, you will be required to perform the following, but not limited to: • Swim distance using crawl or breaststroke without resting: 200 yards. • Feet-first dive, retrieve a 10-lb. brick from 11 feet of water and bring it to the surface. • Tread water without using arms for 2 minutes. • Training valid at facilities with wave environments and open water.

Position Description: Lifeguards are responsible for guarding deep and shallow water areas. Participants will be trained after arrival. Helping guest in and out of attractions. A hign level of english written and spoken is required. Responsible for measuring and weighing guests at tops of slide and provide proper dispatch Scan water for long periods of time Assist guests with exiting rafts at bottoms of rides Perform basic first-aid on guests High level of customer service for guests as well as other employees

 

Housekeeper

Job Start Dates : 6/1/2017 - 6/15/2017

English Language Level : (4) Intermediate

Qualification : Students cannot have allergies top cleaning chemicals. Must be able to stand, lift, kneel, push, pull and carry 30kilo. Ability to work other departments as needed is required.

Position Description: Position allows for early hours and opportunity for second job at different company approved by sponsor in late afternoon hours . The hotel housekeeper of the Flamingo hotel must do thorough cleaning after the guest of that room check out of the hotel. The housekeepers uses a large wheeling cart that will hold the supplies such as new and clean linen , bedding cleansers and other needed cleaning equipment for the rooms. Will replace the soiled linen and towels and then restock soap , tissues , as well as drinking glasses. Disinfect bathroom surfaces , clean toilets and showers/tubs, dust and ploish the furniture, take away all trash, vacuum the carpet, and wash any uncarpeted floors. Report anything that is wrong to that room to their supervisor. Position will allow for team members to finish work in early afternoon , allowing for possible second jobs at other companies .
