Joshua’s Restaurant is a cozy Revolutionary War-period home is the setting for inspired farm-to-table American meals. Located on the coast of Maine, Joshua's commitment to freshness requires buying from many sources. His priority is always freshness first, organic or natural second, local or from Maine third. He can hit the trifecta on vegetables coming from our own farm. A major of the food served at the restaurant comes from the family farm just down the road. The farm harvest 10,000 pounds of certified fresh organic vegetables!! It’s a family operation with dad running the farm and mom and Josh running the restaurant.  There are roughly 35 employees at the restaurant and 6 on the farm.

Kitchen Worker - Dishwasher

Wage: $12.00 /hour
Hours:  38 hours /week

 

Qualification : Upper body strength is VERY important. There is a lot of heavy lifting and moving involved. You need to be able to lift/pull/carry up to 50+ pounds and push up to 100 pounds. You need to be able to comfortably and clearly take orders in the English language. You must be able to work quickly, in a group and independently, and stand for long periods of time. Listening: Dishwashers need to be able to hear and understand specific instructions from the kitchen. Stamina: Everyone in the kitchen works long hours on their feet over hot stoves and grills. Stamina is needed. Teamwork: Dishwashers are part of a team, and in a stressful, fast-paced environment, being a team player and level-headed will help immensely. 

Position Description: •Dishwashers are responsible for washing all dishes that come from the dining room and from the kitchen •All the cooking pots and pans are hand washed in a large sink. •The dishwasher will also be responsible for the cleaning of the entire kitchen on a regular basis. •There will also be prep responsibilities for those who excel at washing dishes maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment. •Maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment. •Maintaining and cleaning all Food Service areas according to all county, state, and federal health codes and sanitation procedures including preparation tables, equipment, floors, supply areas, refrigerators, and coolers. •Washing all dirty dishes and equipment. •Maintaining all necessary food reporting and labeling to ensure product quality. •At the end of the day, responsible for cleaning up food preparation areas and properly storing unused food items. •Keeping supervisor/manager informed of all supply, food, and product inventory when necessary. •Keeping supervisor/manager informed of situations relating to facility operation, patron complaints or concerns, accidents, emergency situations, damages, and potential safety hazards. •Attend departmental and team meetings as well as participate in all additional training courses. •Perform all duties in a safe manner. •Employees may be asked to move to different locations or job assignments within the property, as needed.
