Business Description

Ridin-Hy Ranch has been family owned and operated since 1940.  We specialize in family vacations and offer a level of courtesy and politeness that is rare these days.  Guests come from all over the east coast and many of them have been coming for 10 plus years.  We provide staff with housing and meals free of charge.  We are in a remote location about 30 miles from the closest city.  Staff are encouraged to interact with the guests and with other staff.  Staff are also welcome to use any of the resort on site activities.

Kitchen

Wage: $11.70 /hour
Hours: 40 hours /week

In the dishwasher role you will be responsible for unloading the dishes and cutlery brought to you into the dish trays. The trays are then placed into the commercial washers and blasted with scalding hot water. The dishwashing machines cannot always accommodate larger pots and pans, so occasionally you be have to wash them by hand. Dishwasher must maintain a neat, clean and organized dishwashing station.
Dishwashers must also clean and maintain the coolers, kitchen tables, refrigerators, prep stations, stockroom and employee eating areas. You will remove trash and garbage and place in trash dumpsters and garbage cans. You will help keep the entire kitchen clean, which is a team effort. You will sweep and mop as well. Dishwashers are almost always the last person to leave at night so prepared for some late nights. Expect to work until 8 or 9 pm.

In the prep cook role you be required to perform various food and beverage related tasks including:
Cooking or preparing food items according to procedures or recipes.
Placing food items on serving plates or dishes along with required condiments and utensils to present to customers.

Preparing items quickly and accurately ensuring no waste and in accordance with production and portion requirements as well as quality standards while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
Maintaining and cleaning all Food Service areas according to all county, state and federal health procedures including preparation tables, equipment, floors, supply areas, refrigerators and coolers.
Ensuring that cooking grease is rotated properly.
Maintaining all necessary food reporting and labeling to ensure product quality.
At the beginning of the day, responsible for getting food preparation areas stocked and set up.
At the end of the day, responsible for cleaning up food preparation areas and properly storing unused items.
Employees may be asked to move to different locations or job assignments within the property as needed. Other duties may be assigned.

Housekeeping

Wage: $11.70 /hour
Hours: 40 hours /week

Daily duties include vacuuming, sweeping, dusting and mopping of all common areas - this includes the main lodge, indoor recreation building and ski lodge. Each housekeeper has designated rooms that they are responsible for - the number of rooms can be up to but not limited to 10-15 rooms - however, housekeepers typically work in pairs of two. Room detailing includes changing of the bedding daily, cleaning the bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting and taking out the trash. Each morning housekeepers arrive in the laundry room where they fill their cleaning carts with cleaning products, mops, brooms and towels. The students would be paired with someone who has a vehicle where the towels and sheets and blankets are then loaded into.
